Get involved - South Australia
Volunteering with The Wilderness Society in SA is a wonderful opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people, embrace your creative side, and help revolutionise nature conservation in South Australia.
The Adelaide Campaign Centre has already helped to protect the vast mallee wilderness of Yellabinna, the spectacular Gammon Ranges & the Coongie Lakes wetland system plus the remote coastal wilderness of the Great Australian Bight Marine Park.
Right now, we need passionate volunteers from across South Australia to actively support our Marine, Nullarbor, Coorong and Arkaroola campaigns.

Postcard, Pamphlet & Poster Distribution:
Did you know that South Australia is home to more unique marine life than the Great Barrier Reef yet less than 1% is fully protected?
With zoning arrangements for South Australia’s new marine parks being developed over the next 12 months, it’s absolutely critical that we spread the word about the need for large marine sanctuaries which will provide our unique marine life with a genuine refuge from harm.
Four very effective ways to help do this are:
(1) Distribute printed information to libraries, cafes & supportive shops in your local area;
(2) Letterbox campaign materials to streets in your area;
(3) Get 10 campaign postcards signed by friends or family;
(4) Put a campaign sticker on your car, boat, bin or wherever it’s likely to be seen.
