Since 1976 when a courageous group of people in Tasmania joined together to stop the flooding of the Franklin River in Tasmania’s south-west wilderness, volunteers have the been the life-force of our campaigns.

Over 30 years, thousands of Australians have helped to protect millions of hectares of irreplaceable wilderness around the country.

The Wilderness Society's strength and success are largely thanks to their passion and commitment.

Get involved - South Australia
The Wilderness Society SA is looking for volunteers to help with our exciting campaigns – to participate in peaceful activities, educate the community, volunteer in the shop, organise small events, do research, administration and reception, and much more! The SA Wilderness Action Group (SWAG) meets regularly to plan and discuss community campaign activities.

Get involved - Victoria
Our members, volunteers and supporters are our lifeblood and are responsible for most of the work we do. There are many ways you can get involved; from writing a letter or email using the draft on this website as a guide, lending your professional expertise, helping out with general office duties, reception, to assisting in one of our campaigns.


	Get involved - Western Australia Volunteers and activists were crucial to The Wilderness Society WA’s success in stopping old-growth logging, protecting Ningaloo Reef and banning GMO’s. Find out how you can help.

Get involved - Tasmania
The Wilderness Society Tasmania has campaign centres in Hobart and Launceston. There are many ways you can contribute to our campaigns by volunteering your time and skills. These can include working on creative community actions, research, helping in the office, reception, banner painting, odd jobs, participating in education and community outreach programs, and much more.

2008 is going to be a very exciting, successful and busy year for The Wilderness Society Queensland, and we want you to get involved. There are a number of ways you can lend your support to the work that we do - read on to find out how you can help.

Get involved - New South Wales
On the first and third Tuesday night at 6:00pm, our volunteers meet to organise our campaigns. This group organises stalls and letter writing campaigns as well as hosting guest speakers and workshops. Meet at the Sydney Campaign Centre, Suite 402, Level 4, 64-76 Kippax St, Surry Hills 2010.
