The Wilderness Society has Wilderness Defender teams based all around Australia. In order to coordinate these teams or to help set up new teams we often have management positions available. These positions include:

Wilderness Defender Campaigners
The position involves talking to the public to raise awareness about the environmental issues within Australia, what the Wilderness Society are doing to address these issues and then gaining vital funds to secure the continuation of our great campaigns. Our teams operate in a variety of venues including streets, markets and festivals. Read more »

Wilderness Defender Coordinator
Coordinators are responsible for the day to day running of their team. That includes recruitment, training and supporting Team members - as well as all the administration for the team. Read more »

Wilderness Defender Regional Manager
Regional Managers are responsible for managing between two and four teams within their region. We currently have five Regional Managers running our teams throughout Australia. Many of our Regional Managers began their career working as a Wilderness Defender Campaigner for The Wilderness Society. Read more »

Wilderness Defender State Manager
This is a great career opportunity for someone with proven face to face management skills, great organisational skills and a passion to protect, promote and restore wilderness and wildlife within Australia. Read more »

Campaign Internships
We offer a Campaign Internship program to our staff. This is a great initiative for those looking to make a career in campaigning. Many of our staff started their career as a Wilderness Defender and are now working for The Wilderness Society as a Campaigner. Read more »
