The Wilderness Society has helped protect millions of hectares of Australian wilderness. Now we need your help to raise public awareness and support to protect our wild places and wild life. We currently have vacancies for Wilderness Defender Campaigners on our Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane teams.

The position involves talking to the public to raise awareness about the environmental issues within Australia, what the Wilderness Society are doing to address these issues and then gaining vital funds to secure the continuation of our great campaigns. Our teams operate in a variety of venues including streets, markets and festivals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Fundraising in assigned territory/venues for monthly and yearly memberships to the Wilderness Society
  • Ensuring the Wilderness Society beliefs and values are upheld whilst campaigning to the public
  • Complete rostered shifts at 90% rate
  • Attend Wilderness updates when required
  • Complete all sign up and admin paperwork accurately

  • Strong willed and persistent
  • Be able to commit to a minimum of 3 days work per week
  • Fundraising, sales and customer service experience is highly regarded, but not essential as full training is provided.
