The Kimberley
The Kimberley region of northern WA is one of the world’s great natural and Indigenous cultural regions. Its vast savannah landscapes, wild rivers, extensive wetlands, spectacular coast and rich marine environments provide a multitude of habitats that are home to an extraordinary diversity of species. Incredibly, the far north-west Kimberley sub-region is the only part of Western Australia, and one of very few in Australia, that appears to have retained its complete native fauna species diversity without extinction since European settlement.

Approximately 250 police have converged on Broome in a desperate attempt to crush peaceful community opposition to the proposed industrial complex at James Price Point. Join us this Wednesday 16 May for a National Day of Action in solidarity with the people of Broome.
Earlier this year, the Wilderness Society helped deliver more than 14,000 of your letters and submissions to the WA Government calling for better marine protection. As a result, we can celebrate the establishment of Camden Sound Marine Park – home of the biggest marine sanctuary in West Australian waters.
Woodside shareholders attending the company's annual AGM received a sparkling welcome as we set up a ‘Deal or No Deal’ style action publicising the perils of investing in the proposed James Price Point gas hub.
In the latest of a string of delays to plague the controversial gas hub development at James Price Point, a final investment decision by Woodside and its partners – due mid this year – has been pushed out by another 12 months.
