Forever Wild Bequest event - Adelaide, 7th December, 2008
A huge thank you to all our dedicated supporters who came along to the Adelaide Forever Wild bequest event for 2008. They were informed about the progress of The Wilderness Society’s campaigns, and how to remember wilderness in their Wills.

Peter Owen, our South Australian Campaign Manager, and Amelia Young, one of our Victorian Community Campaigners, informed us about the South Australian Wilderness Society campaigns, as well as the latest Green Carbon science and how this is being used as the backbone of the forest debates world-wide.
A special thank you to Christobel Mattingley, one of The Wilderness Society’s many dedicated benefactors and also one of Australia’s most respected and admired authors.
Christobel spoke about her love and admiration for the environment and Aboriginal people of this country. Most of her books have been inspired by nature, wildlife and Aboriginal culture. Since the writing of her book, Denis King - King of the Wilderness, Christobel and her son, Steven, have been heavily involved in The Wilderness Society. In recent years she has decided to leave a bequest in her Will for the long term protection of Australia’s wilderness, for which The Wilderness Society is extremely grateful.
“I have decided to make a bequest The Wilderness Society and I hope that many other Australians will also pledge their ongoing support in this way for the WildCountry vision. Bequests will enable The Wilderness Society to continue its vital work, so that our rivers, rainforests, coastlines and mountains with their rich bird, animal and plant life are effectively conserved. Our forethought now can help save our magnificent country in all its amazing diversity for those who come after us.”
Christobel Mattingley.
Thanks to Christobel and everyone else who attended the event for your ongoing support. These events are held to update, inform and show appreciation for our valued supporters who have already or may be considering leaving a bequest to The Wilderness Society. We look forward to seeing you again in 2009.
