Your gift of $20 or more will help to protect some of Australia's wild creatures and the places they call home.
Dusky Antechinus
They might look mousy, but these active little marsupials go at it like tigers. Rreaoww! In fact, they've been described as the most highly sexed animals in the world.
They know what they want, and aren't afraid to go after it - each winter, a male will basically hunt down the female of their choice. No messin' about! Once captured he enjoys up to six hours of nooky!
However, rough justice is served on these aggressive chaps. All male Dusky Antechinuses die within days of their first shag-fest. This is because they expend so much energy in the act of love that they enter a state of metabolic catastrophe, with their energy so depleted that they can't possibly survive.
Despite their propensity for lovin', some Antechinus populations are under threat. Local populations suffer when their forest habitat is cleared and are hunted by feral predators which are also responsible for declines in Dusky Antechinus numbers.
Get into a Wild Gift of Love and help reduce threats such as logging and deforestation. Give your special someone a Dusky Antechinus and protect Australia's forests and habitats so that they can be enjoyed by lustful mammals for decades to come!
When you buy a Wild Gift of Love you can show your loved one how much you care – about them and the planet.
On your behalf we will send your special someone a Wild E-Card of Love showing how their wild gift really matters. You can also print a card to give to your love one. After entering your payment details, the card will be available for you to download as a pdf.
And because all the gifts in our Wild Gifts of Love range are tax deductible, you will receive a tax receipt in the mail.
Your Wild Gift of Love’ will go towards The Wilderness Society's work to protect our environment including the campaign your gift represents.
For example, by giving a Brolga you will be supporting our campaign to protect the Brolga’s precious wetland habitats across Australia’s south. With your help, wild places and the creatures that call them home – some of which are under serious threat – will have the best chance of survival.
In addition, your gift will help tackle climate change, and protect our natural environment and the creatures with whom we share it.
