TWS Organisational context

National Administration and Support Officer resides in the National Administration office, providing administrative support services to The Wilderness Society Inc. staff and supporters.

The role requires someone who understands TWS campaigns and TWS memberships.

 

Job Description:

The National Administration and Support Officers are responsible for relaying membership and campaign information via telephone and email, and service supporter records to maximise support for The Wilderness Society.  The team must ensure that no inbound calls go unanswered and all emails are responded to by the next working day.  Generation of new membership prospects and increasing member retention is paramount to the role. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide world class customer service & varied administrative support to supporters, campaigners, fundraisers and other stakeholders
  • Provide guidance and leadership to casual staff and volunteers
  • Provide campaign and general information to members, supporters, general public, schools and other organisations with a view to maximising support for The Wilderness Society
  • Ensure all membership and general information enquires are handled appropriately via telephone, face to face and email communication
  • Work to set timeframes and targets
  • Engage as a team member and provide assistance to others to ensure the smooth running of the office
  • Manage membership data in a confidential manner

Selection Criteria:

  1. High level communication skills, well developed conflict resolution skills and the ability to communicate with a diverse range of supporters, staff and stakeholders

  2. Experience in telephone servicing

  3. Excellent organisational and self-management skills and efficiency in delivery of tasks.  Demonstrated capacity to understand and solve problems and to make timely and accurate decisions.

  4. High level computer literacy, proficiency in a range of applications including Microsoft Office

  5. Understanding of fundraising options and the ability to promote and communicate with prospective and current supporters

  6. The ability to provide leadership and work within and contribute to a successful team environment

  7. Experience in general office administration duties and ability to assist others to ensure the smooth running of the office

  8. Values compatible with those of The Wilderness Society

Hours: Part Time 30 hours per week
Accountability: The position will report to the Member Services Manager.
