FORESTS: The Forgotten Solution to Climate Change
Come along to a Public Meeting about Forests and Climate.
Forests play a crucial role in protecting the planet, and us, from the dangers of climate change.
Forests are the only safe way to store the massive amounts of carbon already released into the atmosphere. It is imperative we protect them so that they can continue to store carbon into the future.
Recent studies have shown that Victoria’s forests are amongst the biggest carbon stores in the world – logging them releases dangerous greenhouse gases.
Come and find out about just how essential it is that forests are properly accounted for in global plans to tackle climate change, and hear about the important role The Wilderness Society is playing in making sure our forests can be the carbon banks we need them to be.
When: Wednesday 6 August, 7:30pm
Where: Mt Waverley Community Centre, 45 Miller Crescent, Mount Waverley (Mel Ref 70 E1)
