Tasmania’s pulp mill rally and march

anz-pulp-mill-rally-cancelled-200.jpgThe No ANZ Pulp Mill rally planned for Melbourne on June 15 has been cancelled following a number of reports that the ANZ will not fund Gunns’ proposed pulp mill in Tasmania. Whilst the ANZ has yet to confirm this report, The Wilderness Society believes that it is correct.

We congratulate the ANZ for making a socially and environmentally responsible decision. It is great to see banks taking social and environmental issues seriously and this decisions sets a great precedent – Gunns’ own banker would not fund the pulp mill.

 CANCELLED: Rally and March. 12 Noon Sunday 15 June, ANZ towers, 55 Collins St, Melbourne.
