What motivated you to originally apply for the job?
“I wanted to do something good and to give back to our beautiful planet and people”- Rachael
What do you most enjoy about the job?
“Being able to inspire others and see that spark of passion form in their eyes!”- Rachael
What have been your major achievements?
“Working my way up from the bottom by learning a whole new skill area in fundraising, enjoying the process and the people and actually finding out that I am good at it!”- Rachael
If you have a good proactive attitude and are keen to learn, progression can be fast and we will help you all the way. You can work your way from a Fundraiser to a Coordinator, to a State Manager role and be responsible for heading the states fundraising teams.
What skills have you obtained?

What challenges have you faced & how have you overcome them?
“Coming into something I have never done before and learning how to do it successfully and then teach others how to do it! I overcame this by listening to the advice of others and learning their skills, learning from my mistakes, constantly setting myself new goals and challenges, keeping my eyes on the end goal, teaching myself perseverance, educating and re-educating myself, including fun into the role and keeping my passion and inspiration topped up at all times.”- Rachael
What motivates you within this position?
“It is so important to me to make sure that we take care of this beautiful planet and the wonderful people who live here by doing the very best we can to take care of them and make those necessary changes. I am here because I know that The Wilderness Society is the best place to do that!”- Rachael
