TWS Organisational context
The full time position implements, co-ordinates, monitors and reports on the existing Supporter Relations programs and assists the Marketing and Supporter Relations Manager in increasing member and supporter retention levels, building stronger relationships and enhancing the active engagement of members, donors and supporters in campaigns using a range of methods and activities.
The role will work with direction from the Marketing and Supporter Relations Manager, in partnership with the Direct Marketing Coordinator and liaise closely with all sections of the organisation, to ensure the successful achievement of the Supporter Relations retention and communications strategy.
This position sits in the National Fundraising team, which is within the National Administration structure of TWS Inc. and reports to the Marketing and Supporter Relations Manager.
The Position
By effectively coordinating the Supporter Relations programs, the Supporter Relations Coordinator will inspire, engage and activate TWS’s membership and supporter base to build and develop long-term relationships to generate maximum lifetime value and retention.
Supporter Relations programs include:
• New and existing member and supporter communications
• New and existing member and supporter engagement
• Acquiring up-to-date personal and payment details
• Increasing financial contributions
• Membership renewals
• Reactivation
• Online engagement and support
The position demands excellent project management skills, fundraising knowledge and Marketing experience to develop and implement retention and engagement strategies to achieve organisational objectives to maintain a reliable, efficient and ethical funding and supporter base.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for planning, co-ordinating, implementing, monitoring and reporting on the Supporter Relations programs and retention strategies including:
1. Coordinating and project managing the production of member and supporter communications, including welcome packs, new member packs, emails, annual tax receipts, donor care packs, monthly renewals, credit card and direct debit payment detail updates, reactivations.
2. Undertaking strategic planning, budget planning and financial management.
3. Implementing relationship and retention strategies and plans in a cost effective manner, within a tight budget.
4. Achieving annual plans, budgets, targets and KPI objectives.
5. Assisting in determining who, what, when, and how to inspire and appropriately communicate with different types of supporters, and the coordination of National and state based communications to members, donors and supporters .
6. Increasing levels of retention and support through the development of long term relationships by ensuring all member and supporter communications are, timely, effective, relevant, appropriate and up-to-date.
7. Monitoring, tracking, testing, analyzing, reviewing and reporting on program performance, including recommendations for future improvements and overall program direction
8. Constructively working as a member of the National Fundraising team
9. Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for fundraising and adherence to TWS organisational policies and procedures eg: Privacy, HR, EEO, OHS etc.
Selection Criteria
1. Supporter relations or direct marketing experience.
2. Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or at least 3 years work experience in marketing and knowledge of marketing principles, techniques and fundraising best practice
3. Ability to innovate, think strategically and creatively.
4. Strong organisational and time management skills, with an attention to detail.
5. The ability to work in productive relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
6. Capacity to drive results with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing requirements and managing multiple projects effectively.
7. A fit or match with the purpose, culture and values of the organisation.
8. Capacity to communicate effectively and to build a positive image and profile of TWS with its members, donors and supporters.
9. A commitment to wilderness and environmental protection.
