Why get involved with The Wilderness Society Brisbane?

2007 is going to be a very exciting, successful and busy year for The Wilderness Society Brisbane, and we want you to get involved. There are a number of ways you can lend your support to the work that we do - read on to find out how you can help.

Wild Rivers
This year we have witnessed an Australian first, with the best of the best of Queensland’s rivers being officially declared as Wild Rivers by the Beattie Government, protecting these magnificent river systems from destructive activities forever.

In 2005 we successfully campaigned for the introduction of Queensland’s Wild Rivers Act. In 2007, we need your help to ensure that all of Queensland’s Wild Rivers successfully become declared and protected, by implementing that legislation.

Cape York Peninsula
2007 will see us launch into The Wilderness Society's campaign to protect the world-class natural and cultural values of Cape York Peninsula. We have been working toward protection of this amazingly diverse and important region for more than 10 years, and many opportunities currently exist to achieve successful conservation wins for the Cape. We need your help to keep up the momentum and protect the Cape.

We need your help as a volunteer
Without our volunteers we could not achieve the amazing work we carry out to protect our WildCountry day after day. Your volunteered time, passion, skills and ideas will help ensure the success of our campaigns. In return you will be a part of a dynamic campaign environment, learn new skills and share the exhilaration of our achievements.
