We’re looking for passionate people to help with our exciting campaigns!

Participate in peaceful activities, stalls and street theatre, volunteer on the front desk and in our shop.

Every campaign, every action, every effort to protect our beautiful natural heritage depends on the contribution of community volunteers. That’s why we highly value the time and energy of people who share our passion.

Whatever your strengths and abilities, we can harness them to protect and promote our environment. It’s a great chance to meet people, learn new skills and play a part in conserving the unique biodiversity of Australia.

Join the South Australian Wilderness Action Group (SWAG)

SWAG is a group of active volunteers who meet regularly in the campaign centre to plan and discuss campaign activities.

The SWAG group is responsible for TWS SA’s appearances in parades, festivals, rallies, actions and street theatre. SWAG volunteers go on wilderness trips into campaign areas, write letters, coordinate stalls, and participate in other creative activities in a peaceful manner.

We are gearing up for Adelaide’s 2009 festival season and are on the lookout for a group to come together and help develop our unique festival themed activities. These include, amongst others, being involved in the fringe festival parade and the WOMADelaide music festival interactive stall.

To find out when meetings are, and how you can be a part of our campaigns to protect Australia's wild places contact the Campaign Centre:  email sa@wilderness.org.au or call 8231 1086

Volunteer at the SA Wilderness Shop

The Wilderness Society Shop in The Central Market needs volunteers to help as retail assistants.

The SA Wilderness Shop (13 Victoria Square Arcade) sells environmentally themed clothing, toys, books, CDs, DVDs and much more. Proceeds from sales are used to support TWS SA campaigns and volunteers gain valuable work experience in a supportive environment.

To volunteer in the shop you need to have great customer service and basic computer skills, and be able to commit to volunteering three to four hours each week.

Contact Lisa in the shop for more information: sa.shop@wilderness.org.au or call 8231 0625.

For more information about how you can become a volunteer contact:
The Campaign Centre on (08) 8231 6586 or e-mail:
