November WildNews update from our National Campaign Manager

The Wilderness Society Archive - This page is over one year old. Links and content may no longer be accurate.

Welcome to November Wild News - here's a quick snapshot of our successes and achievements across the country.

In the Kimberley a perfect storm is building against the proposed industrialisation of this beautiful region with community, celebrities, traditional owners and some big business all speaking out against the proposed gas processing plant at James Price Point.

The push to protect Queensland’s wild rivers continues to gain momentum, and the NSW Government has finally bowed to community pressure announcing it will not build the destructive Tillegra dam on the Williams River.

Across the country, Wilderness Society activists and members are making national media, pounding the halls of Parliament and taking to the streets as we show our commitment to protecting Australia’s wild places.

Right now we’re calling for Governments to provide real protection for our marine environment in south west Western Australia and to support the historic Tasmanian forest peace agreement.

Thank you for your ongoing support and please, get involved in our important campaigns. Together, we are making a difference.
