Nuclear Free Solutions to Climate Change

As the Prime Minister released his final report on uranium mining, processing and nuclear energy, The Wilderness Society released a report showing how several European countries are closing down their nuclear power industry and making major cuts to their greenhouse gas emissions as well.
Germany, for example, has a Kyoto reduction target of 21 per cent and a nuclear power phase out date of 2020. Sweden has a Kyoto target of limiting its emissions to an increase of 4 per cent but is actually reducing its emissions by 4 per cent and has a nuclear power phase out date of 2010.

These and other countries are showing that the Prime Minister's claim - that we need nuclear power to tackle climate change - is 100 per cent wrong.
