No other continent on earth has such an extensive network of Travelling Stock Routes and Reserves (TSRs) on public land.
Stretching across 3 million ha in NSW and Queensland, forming a continental connection across Eastern Australia, the Travelling Stock Routes and Reserves (TSR) network holds some of the best remaining wildlife corridors in Australia.

500 ecologists and wildlife scientists have called on the Premiers of NSW and Queensland to protect the 3.2 million hectare travelling stock route network - which has nationally important environmental, economic and cultural heritage values.
Some Australian icons bring together people from all walks of life! With the fate of Australia’s unique Travelling Stock Routes (TSR) Network in the balance, an alliance of drovers, graziers and conservation groups, including The Wilderness Society, has been formed to champion its long-term protection.

Drovers from across NSW meet at the Dubbo stockyards to form Mates Of The Stock Route and call on the NSW government to stop the sell off of the network of historic and environmentally significant travelling stock routes.
Protection and care of the historic stock route network that criss-crosses Queensland and New South Wales have become a priority for both rural and conservation groups. National, Queensland and NSW groups yesterday agreed to work together on the issue.
