Major gifts: Investing in Wilderness
Major gifts play a significant role in helping the Wilderness Society achieve campaign outcomes and enabling us to plan long-term conservation initiatives.
In previous campaigns, major donors have contributed to TV, print and cinema advertising, commissioned scientific and market research, supported community education, outreach and involvement, and funded the salaries of campaigners.
As a direct result of these major gifts, we were able to protect WA's Ningaloo Reef, stop the Tilegara Dam in NSW, and survive an attack from Gunns to continue campaigning for Tasmania's forests.
Make an informed decision
Personalise your investment by directing your gift towards a specific campaign or activity that is close to your heart.
To help you decide where your support is best placed, we can provide you with a short, detailed proposal including an overview of current campaigns and associated costs.
Should you wish, we can arrange for you to speak with a senior campaigner about your ideas, environmental interests, and long-term vision, and even visit the campaign site before making your decision.
See results
Within an agreed timeframe, you will receive evidence that your funded activity has taken place along with a summary of its impact on campaign outcomes, and a final report.
We encourage you to talk to us about how you would like to be kept up-to-date on your chosen campaign.
