Featuring brilliant underwater footage plus interviews with scientists, activitists and fishermen, this powerful new documentary reveals the devastating impacts of overfishing on our oceans. The Wilderness Society Newcastle, as part of the Save the Williams River coalition, is pleased to promote "Walk for the Williams - Stop Tillegra Dam". This exciting event is a week long walk that follows the Williams River from Brownmore, north of Dungog, to the coast at Nobbys Head in Newcastle. The walk will finish with a picnic on Sunday the 20th of March at Foreshore Park in Newcastle.

Our members, volunteers and supporters are our lifeblood and are responsible for most of the work we do. There are many ways you can get involved; from writing a letter or email, lending your professional expertise, helping out with general office duties or reception, to assisting in one of our campaigns.
If you are an aspiring artist who loves nature & lives in the Great Western Woodlands we would like to invite you to join us for an artists retreat. This weekend will be a chance to participate in art workshops and listen to talks on art and nature all in the beautiful & inspiring surrounds of the largest temperate woodland remaining on Earth.
The Wilderness Society's 100km team challenge set in the Blue Mountains will take place over the weekend of 1st and 2nd of May 2010.
