Since 1976 when a courageous group of people in Tasmania joined together to stop the flooding of the Franklin River in Tasmania’s south-west wilderness, volunteers have been the life-force of our campaigns.
Over 30 years, thousands of Australians have helped to protect millions of hectares of irreplaceable wilderness around the country. The Wilderness Society's strength and success are largely thanks to their passion and commitment.
