The Queensland state election is fast approaching. With the Liberal National Party currently well ahead in the polls and Campbell Newman saying he will wind back environmental protections, now is the time to pressure Mr Newman to embrace policies that will protect Queensland's spectacular environment. The Brisbane Campaign Centre has moved to a new address: 67 Boundary Street (upstairs from the chiropractor), West End. Our postal, telephone and email details remain unchanged.
In a momentous win for Australian conservation, the mighty rivers of western Queensland's Lake Eyre Basin - Cooper Creek, Georgina river and Diamantina river - have been protected under Queensland's Wild Rivers Act.
We’ve already completed an early assessment of the environmental policies of Labor and the Liberal National Party with other Queensland conservation groups. Check out our pdf assessment here.
