The Wilderness Society WA is proud to be supporting the iconic Revelation Film Festival to be held in early July. In our partnership with Revelation we will be sponsoring screenings of the documentary 'Surviving Progress'. Proceeds from all opening night tickets sold through The Wilderness Society WA will be used to help fund our Kimberley campaign.

When: Wednesday 11 July 2012, 5:30pm

Where: Astor Theatre, 659 Beaufort street, Mount Lawley, WA

Cost: $15 per ticket, $10 for members

The Revelation Film Festival has become an institution in the Perth Arts and Culture scene. Now in its 15th year The Wilderness Society has teamed up as a supporting partner. The festival runs from 5-15 July. Read more about it at revelationfilmfest.org.

We will be presenting the documentary film 'Surviving Progress'. Inspired by Ronald Wright’s best-selling book A Short History Of Progress, this film questions the speed of our evolution and the risks of such uncontrolled development that’s still running on 50,000 year-old psychological hardware. Surviving Progress is an example of truly powerful cinema that unfolds with great restraint, passionate argument and a sense of scale that is beautiful to watch.

Prior to the screening there will be a chance to meet people involved in our campaigns and an introduction and updates on the fight to stop the proposed gas hub at James Price Point. Individuals who purchase tickets prior to the night of the screening will be entered in a draw to win a six film 'Mini Pass' to the festival.
