Election of Directors and Annual General Meeting 2017

The Wilderness Society Ltd

From little things, big things grow.

All members can take pride in the achievements of The Wilderness Society over our 41-year history, and an important part of that success story has been the support of our Members.

To acknowledge our Members’ support and encourage their participation in the organisation, as a result of Constitutional changes in late 2015, The Wilderness Society Ltd Board of Directors will be elected by direct ballot in a process leading up to the 2017 Annual General Meeting. The nomination and election process is designed to ensure broad geographic representation and elected Directors must come from at least four of the following six regions: Australian Capital Territory and New South Wales; Queensland; Northern Territory and South Australia; Tasmania; Victoria; and Western Australia.

The elected Directors who will be retiring at the Annual General Meeting in 2017 are Melissa McQuillan and Michelle Prior from Queensland, opening two (2) Director positions for election. The continuing Directors are Stuart Baird, Leanne Craze, Coral Robinson, Linda Selvey and Craig Zanker.

Directors may be elected from regions in which there are vacancies. These eligible regions are Queensland; Northern Territory and South Australia; Tasmania; Victoria; and Western Australia.

There are no vacancies in the region of Australian Capital Territory and New South Wales.

The Wilderness Society is calling for nominations from Members in eligible regions, for the position of Director. If, as a member, you are interested in nominating, please contact executive.officer@wilderness.org.au or call 1800 030 641 for the nomination form and details.

Nominations open on Thursday, 14 September and close at 5pm AEST on Thursday, 19 October 2017.

How do I vote?

Voting will open on 26 October 2017, when candidate information and voting material will be made available on this page.
