Environment Award for Children's Literature

The Wilderness Society's annual Environment Award for Children’s Literature (EACL) promotes books that help grow kids' love for nature.

The award recognises some of the highest quality children's books in the country, and the shortlist is frequently used as a guide for parents and teachers wanting to foster a love of wild places and wildlife in young Australians, and to encourage a sense of responsibility for our natural world. The Award is open to picture books, fiction books, and non-fiction books.

The 2014 Environment Award for Children's Literature is now closed.

Winners will be announced in August 2014. Entries will reopen in 2015. For further information about the award, this year's winners, and more please check out our new Environment Award for Children's Literature website
