Celebrate World Wildlife day by taking part in the Nature Walk Challenge

From March 3-13, join thousands of Australians walking to protect endangered animals and the places they call home.

Over this 10-day period, choose your distance, raise funds and walk in nature to protect Australian endangered animals and the iconic places they call home.

Australia is a mega-biodiverse country, home to some of the world's most unique animals. However, Australia's wildlife is coming under increasing threat. Deforestation, climate change, and unsustainable development in wilderness areas, are putting some of our most iconic creatures at risk of extinction.

Australia is leading the world in mammal extinction, with a total of 34 species. Help us ensure we don't lose any more precious wildlife. Funds raised from the Nature Walk Challenge will support Wilderness Society’s ongoing work to protect the habitats of endangered wildlife across Australia. We do so by:

  • Advocating for new laws that support the life our lives depend on.

  • Stopping risky proposals before they start.

  • Monitoring satellite imagery and recording suspicious land clearing.

  • Funding well researched and credible reports to protect Australia's wildlife.

The Nature Walk Challenge is sponsored by like-minded, environmentally friendly organisations including Biome, Szade, Lonely Kids Club, Paire and Bhumi. They have provided generous prizes to be won throughout the challenge, including vouchers and gift packs. There are also rewards up for grabs, including limited edition Nature Walk Challenge t-shirts, bags, caps, drink bottles and jumpers.

Grab some friends, family or wander solo and enjoy reconnecting with nature, whilst protecting it for generations to come.
