Position: GIS Officer

The Wilderness Society will be boosting our GIS analysis capacity in 2022, with an exciting 10-month contract position to support spatial data research and analysis across our campaign portfolio, with a specific focus on vegetation loss from deforestation.

This is an Australia-wide position. Closing date 9am, Thursday 12 May 2022.

1) In a paragraph or two, please explain the unique qualities you would bring to this role that would support the achievement of the Wilderness Society's organisational campaign objectives and which would enrich and strengthen the organisation.

2) We are looking for someone who has GIS experience that goes beyond using GIS as a tool. In no more than half a page, please provide an example of a GIS project where you sought input from other stakeholders, planned the workflow, acquired and researched GIS data, ran analysis, produced outputs (eg data tables, maps etc), described data caveats and assumptions, made conclusions and presented the results to a broader team consisting of non-GIS professionals.
