Volunteer Tasmanian Committee of Management - Expression of Interest

Can you help one of Tasmania’s leading environmental organisations protect one of the world’s most stunning environments?

Our Committee of Management (CoM) plays a crucial governance role for the organisation. We are currently seeking expressions of interest from people who have the following skills, experience and/or interests:

➢ Demonstrated commitment and passion to the natural environment, including wilderness;

➢ A commitment to and understanding of good governance and, ideally, previous experience on a board or management committee;

➢ Skills and/or experience in the areas of financial, fundraising, human resources and communications, to complement the existing skill set of the Committee.

Commitment Required

The Committee currently meets monthly by videoconference. The time commitment for our Committee members is approximately six hours per month, including relevant meeting preparation.

There is no requirement to be located in any specific location in Tasmania, however financial membership of the organisation is a requirement for all nominees to the CoM.

To Express Interest

If you are suitably qualified and have the time and ability to professionally volunteer, please express your interest by sending an email outlining your skills and experience, why you would like to join the Committee of Management, and provide a copy of your CV to Erica Maginnis via in the first instance. Should you wish to discuss this opportunity, please email as above and we will be in contact with you as soon as possible.

The Wilderness Society is happy to make the organisation’s Constitution and recent Annual Reviews available on request.

Expressions of Interest remain open until COB Monday, 5 October 2020
