Events - 30 August 2019

Winners announced 15 September

Do you love children’s books? On first telling, a story might be just that—a good story.

But with repetition—through bedtime stories or reading sessions on the beanbags at the local library—children’s layers of understanding are built and their curiosity unveiled.

For 25 years, the Wilderness Society has celebrated children’s nature books that help to promote a love of the environment.

On 15 September, the Wilderness Society’s Environment Award for Children’s Literature winners will be announced at the Hobart Writers Festival.

Before the 2019 winners are announced, there will be a panel discussion with previous winners Anne Morgan, Coral Tulloch and Christina Booth about why writing nature books for kids is important.
