It was with great pleasure that the Wilderness Society and the Victorian Forever Wild members made their first visit to the South Melbourne Commons for an afternoon of informative talks and delicious home-baked treats.
All had a fantastic day being educated about penguins and other seabirds by senior citizen scientist Dr Nick Dunlop. We got to watch penguin feedings and get up close and personal to the local ecology on the island.
The first Cairns Forever Wild trip was a great success. Guests led by Jeremy Little, Cairns community campaigner, X ranger and ecologist and Laurie Deacon from the Wilderness Society's QLD management committee took the group through a spectacular part of QLD ‘s iconic wilderness, the Daintree lowlands.
All had a fantastic day walking the circuit at Mt Courdeaux in Main Range National Park. The walk and surrounding landscape was truly magnificent whether you’re into fitness, photography or just like going for a bush walk.
